rush explores the manipulation of the flow of time in creating dramatic builds. Using both continuous and discrete tempi shifts performed by the quartet simultaneously, rush never quite loses the feeling of the groove, the performers locked in with the four-on-the-floor as the pulse itself accelerates and decelerates.
